So Joe Rogan signed deal for exclusively listing his content on Spotify. You must be wondering what is the big deal? Well, it is kind of big deal because it is start of end of open protocol of podcast sharing. Coincidentally Ben Thompson, few days before announcement of deal wrote article explaining and warning about repercussions of going in this direction, you can read about it in detail here.
Microsoft’s support for React Native
This is huge, in a battle for ultimate tech stack for application development, FB just got a big support from Microsoft. It will interesting to see how things turn out. But for now, it seems React Native has got an edge with its support being extended to MacOS and Windows platform as well.

Region based differential compensation
We all have been hearing about companies going full remote. FB is latest, saying 50% of its staff will start working remotely indefinitely. It was all fine, but there comes a caveat, it says compensation will be based on which part of world you are in and what is the cost of living there. It has started a massive debate whether it is a step in right direction. There are valid arguments on both side, but one thing is for sure, such policy decisions are going to have ripple effect on tech industry in the time to come.
